Have You Just Joined CultureUnity.com? 10 Things to Do First!

Welcome to CultureUnity.com β the vibrant digital village where cultural pride meets connection, learning, and legacy. Whether you’re a student, professional, elder, creative, or simply someone passionate about African identity, your presence here adds to the living archive of who we are.
So, you’ve just signed up β now what? π€
Here are the 10 essential things to do right away to get the most out of your CultureUnity experience.
1. πΌοΈ Complete Your Cultural Profile

Before diving into conversations, take a few minutes to tell the community who you are. Go beyond the basics β add your ethnic affiliation, region of origin, languages spoken, cultural interests, and anything else that makes your story unique.
Tip: A completed profile helps you connect with people who share your heritage or curiosity.
2. π Join Your Culture Group
From the Baganda to the Iteso, Batooro to the Karimojong, weβve created dedicated cultural groups where members can connect, share, and preserve their unique traditions. Simply visit the βCulture Groupsβ section, search for your community, and click Join.
Donβt see your group yet? Request for it to be added β weβre building CultureUnity together. Call/WhatsApp us on +256779342057.
3. πΈ Upload Your Profile & Cover Photos
Give your account a personal touch. Upload a clear profile photo and a cover image that represents you β maybe itβs your favorite cultural attire, your flag, or a memory from home.
This small step increases connection and trust within the platform. Do you have any trouble uploading your profile and cover photos, just contact us.
4. π£οΈ Introduce Yourself in Your Group or the Community Wall
Let your voice be heard! Post a simple intro in your cultural group or the main Community Wall. For example:
“Hi everyone! I’m Amina from the Lugbara community. Speak Lugbara, Luganda, and English languages. I’m passionate about traditional music and youth empowerment. Excited to connect with fellow culture lovers!”
To post specifically under your cultural group, just go to the group and post on their timeline. You can also do that from the main newsfeed and select ‘post-in>yourculture’. Alternatively, you can just post as you, not under any cultural group. All these should be easy. If you have any challenges, talk to us.
5. π¬ Browse and Join Cultural Conversations
Our platform is buzzing with meaningful discussions β from proverbs and traditional recipes to modern identity and intercultural marriages. Dive into the topics that interest you most and leave a comment or share your thoughts.
Culture is a conversation β your voice matters. To join conversations, visit cultural forums here: https://cultureunity.com/forums/. Currently, there is a hot culture and tribe related debate on Balaalo’s eviction from the Northern Acholi Land. What is your say? See the discussion here.
6. π Explore the platform’s features
You can even take this moment to just explore how everything works. Click on forums and see where it takes you, go to cultural groups and explore, check out the messaging feature and do private chats, move on and post what is on your mind in the newsfeed, or just explore all the members and connect. Explore this platform.

7. π€ Connect with Friends and Elders
CultureUnity is more than a platform β itβs a community. Start building your circle by sending friend requests to people you know or those who inspire you.
Look out for culture bearers, youth mentors, and creatives from across Africa and the diaspora. Just follow one person, for now. It is a good start! Browse all members here. Importantly, follow them, send private one-on-one messages, and see how it all turns out.
8. π Read or Submit a Cultural Story
One of the core goals of CultureUnity is preserving cultural knowledge. Visit the NewsFeed page and share a photo, audio, text, video, or anything about yourself or your culture. You can share a cultural proverb, a story, or just a photo of some of your sacred symbols.
Would you want to take it further, and postray submit an article about a special cultural place, a person of interest in your community, an African mythology story? Do so at Ugapedia.
9. π Earn Your First Badge
We love to celebrate participation! Earn your βCultural Connectorβ badge by:
